چکیده

The objective of this experiment was to evaluate the effect of citric acid (CA), phytase and calcium in diets of laying hens on the productive performances and digestibility and excretion of phosphorus (P), calcium and nitrogen (N). An experiment was designed using 24 week old laying hens, which were fed a diet with a base of sorghum and soybean meal containing 2,700 kcal ME/kg, 15% crude protein, 3.25% calcium and 0.25% available phosphorus. The following were also added to the diets of hens depending on the treatment groups: 0.0, 0.6 and 1.2% citric acid, 0.0 and 300 units of phytase/kg of diet (FTU) and 3.00 and 3.25% calcium. The phytase was added as an ingredient into to diets, contributed to 0.1% of phosphorus and 0.3% of calcium levels. The experiment involved 12 treatments in a 3 x 2 x 2 factorial design. The treatment 0.6% citric acid, 300 FTU and 3% calcium increased the digestibility of phosphorus, resulting in its decreased excretion (p<0.05). Citric acid decreased the excretion of calcium and N linearly (p<0.01), increased (p<0.05) their digestibility and had effect on the response of the phytase (p<0.05). The treatment of 1.2% citric acid, 300 FTU and 3.25% calcium increased (p<0.05) the digestibility of N quantitativaly. It can be concluded that citric acid reduces the excretion levels and increases the digestibility of P, N and calcium and has effect on the response of the phytase to affect the excretions of P and N.

Effect of dietary available phosphorus and phytase on production performance of old laying hens and tibia bone quality

Background: Old laying hens are more prone to dietary calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P) deficiencies as  they absorb Ca and P less efficiently than younger hens. OBJECTIVES: In a 2×2 factorial design, the influence of diets with two levels of available phosphorus (AP) and phytase enzyme on the laying performance, egg quality and tibia bone characteristics of laying hens at their late 2nd producti...

Efficacy of Feeding Various Calcium Source and Concentration on Egg Quality, Some Blood Variables, and Performance of Aged Laying Hens

The primary aim of this study was to assay the influence of dietary Ca sources and levels on performance, egg quality indices, and selected blood variables of laying hens. A total of 192 Bovanz commercial layers were distributed to 6 dietary treatment groups with 4 replicates and 8 birds in each replicate. The experimental diets were iso-caloric and iso-nitrogenous, but they were different in t...

Effects of Rice Bran and Phytase Supplementation on Performance, Egg Quality, and Biochemical Parameters of Comercial Hy-Line Hens

Rice bran (RB) is a major by-product, produced from the rice milling process. This study was conducted to evaluate the performance, egg quality, and blood biochemical parameters of 288 Hy-line laying hens fed diets with rice bran and commercial microbial phytase Natuphos®5000. The experiment was a 4×2 factorial one with four RB levels (0, 5, 10, and 15%) by two phytase levels (0 and 5000 FTU/kg...

Phytase effects on amino acid digestibility in molted laying hens.

Two hundred sixteen previously molted Dekalb Delta Leghorn laying hens (78 wk of age) were utilized to determine the effect of phytase on the ileal digestibility of amino acids. The hens were randomly arranged in a 3 x 2 factorial to evaluate three diet types that were corn-soybean meal (C-SBM), C-SBM-meat and bone meal (C-SBM-MBM), and C-SBM-wheat middlings (C-SBM-WM) and two levels of phytase...
